Facial Implants Chicago
Facial Implants are used to enhance a patient’s jaw line or cheeks. Facial Implants can greatly enhance existing facial features.
How long does it take for a Facial Implant procedure?
Before you undergo Facial Implant surgery, Dr. Lee will discuss whether general anesthesia or local anesthesia is right for you. The total length of your surgery is dependent upon what area of your face is being worked on. However, in most cases, the surgery will last anywhere from one to two hours. Your incisions will likely be closed with dissolvable sutures. Chin Implants can be placed in the office in typically a 30 minute procedure.
What areas can receive Facial Implants?
The three main areas where implants are placed are the chin, cheek and jaw. In the jaw, implants enhance the shape of your jaw line. In the cheek, implants enhance the appearance of your cheek. Chin implants are normally placed where your lower lip meets your gum, and they enhance the shape of your chin.
How long is the recovery time for Facial Implants?
The recovery process for Facial Implant surgery is fast. The time it takes for you to recover is different for everyone. Plan to have a friend or family member drive you home.
On the first night after surgery, try to have someone stay with you. Wear clothing that you will not have to pull over your face to remove. Dr. Lee will give you all of the details about medications and foods to avoid.
Before your surgery takes place, you should create a recovery area, and this area should have clean gauze, recommended ointments, a good supply of all of your regular medications and your post-operative pain medications. It should also contain foods recommended by your surgeon, which might include pudding, ice cream, Jell-O and other soft foods.
What are some risks involved with Facial Implants?
All surgeries come with potential complications and risks. Swelling and bruising are normal and can last for two weeks. Dr. Lee will go over this with you in more detail during your initial consultation.
Why consider Dr. Lee for Facial Implant Augmentation?
The biggest issues with Facial Implants are the placement of too large implants. If the implants are too large they can put pressure on the nerves as well as the bone and even cause bone loss.
Dr. Lee does a complete facial analysis to make sure that the implant chosen creates the best cosmetic improvement without creating unnecessary pressure on the bone and nerves.
