The patients undergoing eyelid surgery go through a very short period of recovery right after the operation. The treatment might give rise to swelling and bruising, but they disappear quickly on the second or third day succeeding the surgery.

During the first two days after an eyelid operation, using cold compresses can help a lot in reducing the swelling and bruising, which occur around the eyes and also in the face. If you opt for light activities such as walking, these can also help in speeding up the recovery process.

Thin bandages are used over the sites of incision which are removed after a few days. The stitches will be present on the face for about one week. Furthermore, you can return to normal activities after 7 days.
