Skin Rejuvenation Conveniently located to serve Greater Chicago Area and Cook County

Over time, lifestyle factors can cause facial wrinkling. Due to aging, sun exposure and acne, brown spots and blotches can occur, which causes your skin’s surface to become uneven.

To remedy these problems, many people undergo Skin Rejuvenation. It’s important to know that skin resurfacing is a controlled injury. As the skin heals itself, the end goal is to make sure the skin develops good scar tissue.

Your consultation with Dr. Lee

When you have a consultation for Skin Rejuvenation, you will need to tell Dr. Lee what facial areas you want improved. He will then assess your expectations and determine if they’re realistic or not.

What options for Skin Rejuvenation does Dr. Lee offer?

Dr Lee’s office offers Intense Pulse Light Therapy (IPL) for brown and red spots, Fractional resurfacing lasers with 1440 nm, and 2940 nm wavelengths to address skin damage, large pores, wrinkles, brown spots, Pulsed Dye lasers for broken capillaries, brown spots and tattoos as well as hair removal lasers.

His office also offers skin peels starting from TCA peels, glycolic peels, and salicylic acid peels as well as microdermabrasion.

Dr. Lee also offers minimally invasive procedures such as BOTOX®, RESTYLANE®, JUVEDERM®, SCULPTRA® and other fillers for Skin Rejuvenation. Skin Rejuvenation may require a Volume Sculpt™ procedure (please refer to that section).

Who is Skin Rejuvenation right for?

If you have chickenpox or acne scars, certain skin growths, blotchy skin coloring or brown spots, then skin resurfacing might help you. Someone who has sun-damaged or wrinkled facial skin, superficial facial scars or fine wrinkling are great candidates for skin resurfacing. Sometimes a combination of laser treatments and fillers can create the best outcome.

There is really no age limitation for the procedure. However, some people have facial features that make them better candidates for other techniques.

How do the techniques work?

Although they’re different, each technique uses the same basic method to achieve the desired results. Your skin will be injured in a controlled way, and over time, it begins to heal, which produces new, better-looking skin.

The techniques differentiate in the way that they injure the skin. Laser resurfacing utilizes a laser beam, dermabrasion involves a fast-spinning rotary wheel and chemical peels involve the use of a caustic solution.

What to expect during recovery?

Most patients will experience swelling and redness. It’s possible that a scab might form over the treated area. Dr. Lee will give you all of the information about skin cleansing and what to do after laser treatment or skin peels.

Patients should understand that it might take many months to realize the full results of skin resurfacing. The majority of patients who undergo Skin Rejuvenation are satisfied with the results.
